These are the typical materials you will need when you apply to univs....

4) GRE Score (Sent thru ETS)
5) TOEFL iBT Score (Sent Thru ETS)
6) SOP (Satement of Purpose)
7) Financial Documentation (Affidavit of support + Bank Stmt of sponsor)
Covering letter:
Just write on a paper all your details like Given name, Surname, Date of Birth, Dept. Applied to, Term Applied for(fall/spring)…… and then list all the materials that you are sending in a numbered way…. Its kinda checklist for them to confirm the materials u sent……Very Imp Note: You should also maintain a record of all the materials that you sent to each univ…I dint do this and I had to regret……
Online Application:
U need to first fill the online application….u need not complete your application in a single sitting….u should 1st create a login and PWD….. login to your application….fill in some info and save it…. Now u can login some other time and then fill in the remaining info….. u can do this any No of times….and if you are done….then “submit” the application and/by paying the fee (by credit card)…. Once you “submit” the application… u cant modify it afterwards….on an average, application fee for a typical American univ. would be from 50 to 80 USD.
After you submit your application, you get a unique Reference No/Applicant ID sort of thing within few(2-3) days…and then….you have to include this unique ID on the application packet u send to that univ…. failing to include this ID on your packet will delay their processing by a few days…..its simply for the unique identification of your packet…..
CHECK/DD:
Some times… when your credit card doesn’t work… u need to send them a check/DD of the application fee amount. In Bhopal u can get the DD (in place of check) at SBI main branch in New Market. All the issues pertaining to this foreign exchange will be dealt with in the first floor in the SBI building
Transcripts. :
Apply for transcripts from your college. Mostly u'll get them from the COE section or administrative section. This also includes some fees in many institutes.
