Application Process

Posted by Quality Blogger

Perhaps the most grueling part on your quest to go abroad is the application process.....
After you are done wid your GRE & TOEFL, start your university search.....based on your credentials/profile.... this is the most difficult part.....

Here are some aspects which help u in this regard.(univ search)
1)Most important resource: Relatives/friends/friends of friends/seniors
2) edulix.com --> a great resource in which you'll come to know the profiles of the many students admitted in all the universities..... u need to spend some time on this....
3)Orkut--> Search for the communities of the universities....
Eg: i have applied for "North Carolina State Univ." (NCSU). There is a community in orkut named "NCSU Fall'08".... in this comm., u find the profiles of some students who are admitted (applied) to NCSU. If you search all the topics carefully, you'll even find the comments of the students who are studying in NCSU, commenting about their university. Doing this really gives u a nice picture of the univ. and whether the univ. is within your range or not..... so, ppl who are applying for FALL'09 can checkout "FALL'08" communities of the universities.....

You will have to select few Ambitious, few Possible/desirable and Few safe side univs…..

Here’s my list of the univs I applied to and their decision (No aid from any though)

Profile: GRE 1480, TOEFL 106, CGPA (upto 6th sem) 7.36, Recos from Dr. J.L.Rana Sir, Meenu Chawla mam, Dr. Namita Srivastava Mam, a good SOP
